WHO ARE WE?

Venice Florida Corvettes, Inc. (“VFC”) is a very active social car club with members that believe Corvettes are built to be driven.
We first began operations in 2002 and from a small group of fellow enthusiasts, we’ve grown to approximately 500 members, many of which are seasonal members.
Joining a new organization is always daunting. To welcome our new members, we hold New Member Orientation Dinners, as needed. These dinners allow new members to not only meet other new members, but also allows VFC’s Board members to provide an overview of club operations. Also covering benefits associated with being a member of VFC and respond to any questions from our new members.
We have a dedicated and enthusiastic Social Committee that plan diverse activities for our membership to enjoy. Events are scheduled throughout the year and there’s always something going on every month It could be a luncheon, a dinner, an outing to some place interesting. Or maybe a chance to enjoy an ice cream cone with friends. With a large membership, we strive to diversify our events so every member can find something they have an interest in and can get involved. Our events can be near and far. For example, in 2018, a number of our members took their cars on a trip along Route 66. In 2019 a number of members participated in a caravan up to Bowling Green, Kentucky to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum.
We have three (3) signature social events every year. We have a Welcome Back Brunch where we welcome back our seasonal members, a Farewell Picnic where we say “see ya real soon” to our seasonal members, and of course our annual Christmas Party. There we put away our club shirts and enjoy an evening of good food, good music, good dance, and of course the company of good friends.
We also have two (2) other signature events. The first is our annual Car Show, held every March in Centennial Park, in downtown Venice, Florida. It is known simply as a “Vette Together”. This show is put on with the help of 200 VFC volunteers and we host 165 Corvettes representing Corvette Clubs from near and far. They all compete for our “Shark Tooth Trophies”, for after all, Venice is known as the shark tooth capital of the world. While this may be our signature car show in which we are the host club, we promote and organize caravans to other car shows, some near and some that require, what seems to be almost every weekend.
Our second event is our annual Charity Golf Outing held in November, typically over the Veterans Day weekend. We donate the net proceeds to Southeastern Guide Dogs with the specific purpose to raise, train, and donate a dog to a combat veteran suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (aka PTSD).

We have few requirements to be a member of VFC and they are:
· You need only have a Corvette.
· Want to meet other nice folks that own and enjoy Corvettes; and above all else,
· You want to have fun.
Our members also enjoy specific benefits offered exclusively to VFC members by our cub sponsors. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have Jenkins Chevrolet, Sage Auto Studios, Norma Jeans Sports Bar & Grille and Englewood Bank & Trust as our sponsors.
We have a monthly newsletter, The Vette Gazette, which keeps our members, both in town and out of town, up to date on club news, operations, upcoming and past events. Our website, venicefloridacorvettes.com, is full of club information. In 2018 it was recognized by the National Corvette Museum as being the best website in a competition of Corvette Club websites.
When someone asks, “Who Are We?” - our response is simple – we are a socially active car club, that has a passion for the Corvette. We also want to support those in need as a good citizen of the community. A club where members have fun with fellow enthusiasts and in keeping with our tag line, a club “Where Members Vette Together and Become Friends”.
It goes without saying that the global Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the club, but our Mission and Vision remain the same.
