From Our President
Welcome to the home of Venice Florida Corvettes, located in historic Venice, Sarasota County, Florida. We are one of the largest Corvettes clubs in the country with over 500 members.
Our Club is more than a car club, it’s a social club with a common interest and that’s enjoying our Corvettes. Our club not only enjoys traveling to car shows and visiting points of interest, we also enjoy the socialization with our members. As our members are so fond of saying at the conclusion of an event – “until we eat again”. Perhaps it’s more appropriate for us to be known as a club “Where Members Vette Together and Become Friends”. Aside from being a car/social club, we are proud to organize two (2) signature events every year. The first is our annual Corvette car show held in March in downtown Venice, often times referred to as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World – our shark tooth trophies tend to represent that moniker. The event supports local food banks. The second event we organize is a charity golf outing held in November, typically over the Veterans Day weekend. All proceeds go to Southeastern Guide Dogs who train and provide service dogs to combat veterans suffering from PTSD.
We have a diverse membership, as members have come to Southwest Florida from different parts of the country – we suspect so that they can enjoy their Corvettes year-round.
Aside from the good times and good people our club is known for, members receive our monthly newsletter, Venice Vette Gazette, which members look forward to receiving because of the articles and pictures contained within. They also enjoy having access to the information hosted on our website, which in 2018 was recognized by the National Corvette Museum as being the best website in the country among Corvette Club websites.
So, if you have a Corvette and want to become a member of a fun club, made up of Corvette enthusiasts who want to enjoy life with other fun-loving folks and who want to do good for others, come join our family. Our membership meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at the Venice Community Center, beginning at 7:00 PM. It’s pretty easy to find, just follow any Corvette in the Venice area around that time, for they are more than likely heading to the meeting.
All are welcome – just send me an email at venicefloridacorvettes@gmail.com and let me know if you plan on attending a meeting so we can make arrangements to meet.
Happy motoring!
